I recently made a quilt, as inpired by meli's patchwork pillow ;D
I backed it with fleece, and now I have a ton left.. what can I do with it other than make it in to a blanket?
I want to use it cos fleece cost lots of cash money ha.

get started on next year's christmas presents by making up a bunch of scarves? :o)

(completely off topic, but I thought it was funny that my little sisters - they're 7 and 9 - spent several hours on Dec. 26th making necklaces and earrings for next years gifts, out of the beads and supplies I gave them the day before....)

Love fleece - easy to sew and no ravels on the edges. So, how about making: pillows, table runners, curtains or window toppers, socks (I found a pattern through Green Pepper - dumb name but some interesting outdoorsy type sewing patterns), vest, coat (button/zipper front or pullover), tea cozy, hats, headbands, mittens, purse/totebag, poncho....... Geez, I've had way too much caffeine and I spent my lunch hour at the fabric shop looking at patterns so I've got sewing-on-the-brain now! Fleece also makes a nice, stable, thin batting or lining for thing syou want to make with other fabric that might be too delicate or would stretch out too much - I'm thinking about using up some leftover fleece to stabilize and add some oomph to a tote bag by putting it between the outer fabric and the lining. Does that make sense? Anyway - have fun, fleece is fabulous!

--Libby (shakin from the caffeine or all those sewing ideas dancing in her head?...hmmm...)

PS - Wonder how strips of different colored fleece would look as a braided rug? So many ideas, so little time.....!

Those Green Pepper socks ROCK. A friend made me a pair and they are so cozy.

Have you seen the Magritte curtains on SCP? They are fleece.

Fleece is great for scarves, since it doesn't ravel. You can also make a baby blanket.

I love fleece. You can never have too much.
