I have approx. 10 days to get a bridal shower together, a last minute request from the bride! AHHH! Anybody have any good crafty ideas from everything from favors to decorations to punch recipes! Thanks!

This idea all depends on how cheap you can find crappy sunglasses, otherwise it will cost too much. My mom got a good deal on a bunch of them..she decorated them with glittery bells, white silk mini roses, white ribbons, etc. she took a pic of all the guests wearing them, it was really cute! The bride's pair had a cake-topper couple on them.

i say fuck the traditional bridal shower- too boring and too much estrogen. do something where the male and female friends will come, and where the bride-to-be can be with her fiancee. you live in LA so its warm right? well why dont you host a fun softball game and then afterward all go to a bar/grill or go to an ice cream parlor? nobody likes sitting through the opening of the presents anyway, and it makes the people who have less expensive gifts feel bad, so just forget that part. beforehand all meet at someones house to "assemble", really for the purpose of dropping off the gifts, of reserve the park field house that everyone can drop off their gifts at and have the lunch in there after. or if youre not into softball, have a candlelight bowl, ya know where you do all the goofy suff?

um, I think if the bride has asked for a bridal shower you should be careful about going for the non trad type party for all the friends etc, which is a cool idea but may not be what the bride wants and could lead to all kinds of ructions if she felt gipped, personally i think you could still hold a fairly trad shower, keep up with all expectations and still avoid the present opening circus which is, I think, revoltingly grabby... I think picky.com has some sort of bridal shower ideas page or hints articles one of them was a chinese tea party with paper lanterns green tea etc which sounds quite relaxing. ros.
