i saw a picture of a knitted pillbox hat and totally freaked out. it was so rad and beautiful and i *MUST KNIT ONE*! so, i did a search on here and on the web in general. i found one free link for a pattern, but it didn't work! foiled!!!!

so, does anyone have a pattern for making one of these babies? today i'm going to go buy some pink yarn so i can get ready to be all jackie o!

ilpop- hopefully this link will work. a pillbox hat is a type of hat that was made famous by jackie onassis. (she was wearing a pink suit and a pink pillbox hat - if memory serves correct- when her husband, john f. kennedy was shot)

Have you looked at the library? There are a few hat knitting books out that might have something.

thanks for the link, susannah! i'm really into making hats at the moment. i'm currently in the middle of knitting an all-black watch hat thingie that i'm going to sew this bitchin' pink poodle applique on when i finish. hurrah!

and....you're right, i do need to check the library. but- i've been trying to convince myself to learn how to crochet, this just might be the ticket!

There is a hats knitting book out but I can't recall the name at the moment.
You might want to go to the Patterworks website (http://www.patternworks.com) and do a search of their books segment.
That book is really cool and they do have some pillbox type hats in it.

there are sites out there that will help you transfer crocheting directions to knitting directions....i just can't think of any offhand, sorry! :-(
