Awesome! I'm just off of Pico and Robertson, between Culver City and Beverly Hills. I've been talking to some of the girls at work about having one of these... email me at miaowgrrl@aol and we can sketch out the details!

The cookie place in Westwood is called Diddy Reese (I'm not sure about the spelling). In fact, the deals are even better than you had described, you get a dozen cookies for $3.00, which comes down to $.25 each!

Thanks Bouxie! I'm always surprised that there aren't that many crafty people in the big cities. *sigh* I still would like to get a Naked Lady party going. Maybe a church would let use a room if we donate to their thrift store? Someone have a big living room? (I have a puny excuse for an apartment) Let's get working & meet few and the proud crafty people in this big ole city!

Hey, crafty girls, does anyone besides me hang out on the Venice boardwalk? As far as I'm concerned, it is the ultimate resource: way cheap clothes (lots of seconds and all for the thrifty), flip flops crying out to be decorated, beads, jewelrey easily available, weird performers, and a bunch of other crafty peeps showing off their stuff! Whenever I need inspiration, I go there...

you know what is my most absolute favorite store in venice? i forget what it's called, but it's on the north end of the boardwalk, in this little tucked away nook that has a brick entryway, where

Wow! I just moved to L.A. (LosFeliz area) and I'd been wondering about where to find a good bead store. I even thought "one like Bead It in Santa Cruz would be great. . ." cause the one in my old midwestern hometown wasn't for hardcore grrls who like, want to string the beads _themselves_.

For beads, try Fred Segal- the Hollywood store- it's ritzy, but the bead section is unique.

i know it's a little too late for dah halloween fabrics, but if you want fabrics in general, head to downtown l.a. to the garment district, once again, my friends. maple street, i tell ya has everything. there's michael levine's, and also all fabrics for $1.99 on 305 e. 9th st. if you want more expensive cha-cha-cha fabrics, go to international silks and woolens on beverly and sweetzer (?). they are absolutely fabulous and have kick-ass service, too. and remember, beads on maple where i posted before. trust me.

Downtown kicks ass for fabric supplies. Also Pasadena (of all places) has a nifty little craft store that sells fabric...
