hey gals | |
very cute, meli!!! | |

I used translucent sculpey and then blended it with a couple different shades of purple, that is why there is variation from one hole to the next. if you want flat color you can mix it thoroughly. Also, fimo brand carries translucent colors, I think they have red, orange, blue, green, and yellow. They work really well but are not as "see-though" as the stuff I used on my lamp.

um, dont feel bad for not buying from borders. corporate bookstores suck.

I have to agree with you there. I like to go because it's close by and a good place to just sit and read, but they don't have any of the books I like. I like to shop at used book stores.
me too! the people that work there are always so informed, and you can find GEMS for $5!

My guy and I collect vintage books, he collects space books, I collect craft/sewing/knitting type books. It's so cheap, and fun to find cool old stuff!

with coffe shops in em they beg to be exploited, anyway.
absolutely! I just take all my books to the coffee area, learn a few new techniques, get some ideas, put the books back, and go home! Yay! It's much closer than the library(which I do have to start making use of soon)
meli- you put your books back, even? you're a model citizen!

when I find an amazing dress I buy it, whether or not it's my size. I am acquiring a small collection of the coolest dresses in the world! :)
oh how chic! I think you should just wear that outfit around after halloween. Where did you find your corset?

I got it from Victoria's secret-- much as I hate to admit that! Paid way too much. But I made the skirt, the hat, and the "sleeves", and got the boots for $7.00 at wet seal, so I guess that makes up for it!

meli, i'm quite taken by the necklaces at the bottom of your page with just the little coiled loop for hanging... so simple and lovely! which thread was this you got the idea from? how did you stick the coil to the (i'm guessing flat) marble? pretty :) i especially like the fruit one.
well, I forget which thread-- sorry! I think it was "marble magnets revisited", but anyway, I glued the image to the marble, then glued another marble to the back of the image. When it was all dry, I wrapped the wire up the crease between the two marbles, and formed the top loop, and wrapped the ends with wire to finish it off. I have made ten since yesterday-- it is super easy and ends up looking cool. I think it would be nice hanging from hemp or leather cord, too!
yeah, did you glue it or what? i thought those were great. [like all your projects:)]
thanks sweets! | |
sorry, i didnt see your other post. *sheepish grin*
meli- will you re-post the picture of the flower-sculpey beads on your site? i desperately want to rip those off, they're so adorable.
I will gladly repost it, gimme a day or two, I am going away for the day today! I'll put up just those couple of pictures and post the link here!
