i don't usually eat breakfast, but today i was pampered. my bf made me a scramble with eggs from some friend's chickens, smoked swiss cheese, fried tofu, spinach and red onions, sourdough toast with butter and french pressed coffee with maple syrup and milk!!!

btw) does anyone remember that prince song "starfish and coffee"?

By anniebeegoode On 03/28/04

yum.

my boy and i went to the bagel palace and i had a pumpernickel bagel with egg and melted swiss on it. and a cup of hot tea. just regular lipton hot tea.

I made egg-in-the-hole.

You make a piece of skillet-grilled toast, cut a hole in the middle with a cup, put it back in the skillet and crack an egg in the middle. You flip it until it's done. Egg in the hole!

By amigarabita On 03/28/04

i love egg in the hole with jelly

mmm breakfast.

I had hot Grape nuts with strawberry jam, and a homemade mocha latte (french press organic coffee, steamed soymilk and hot cocoa mix...yum!)

It made me sad that tomorrow's breakfast will be a sesame bagel and powerade...as always.

I love weekend breakfasts so much (have a feeling this post is gonna be long, just cos I love breakfast so much). My bf and I have a tradition of making each other breakfasts every weekend, since we're too rushed on weekdays to eat well.

This weekend I was feeling homesick for Georgia, so we had Pillsbury frozen biscuits. (I can and do make them from scratch, but my from-scratch biscuits are way too healthy to qualify for Southern breakfast, so I go with the Pillsbury in a pinch.) I had veggie sausage patties, the bf had real sausage. Mmmmm mmmm.

That egg-in-a-hole thing sounds amazing! I've never heard of it, but I'm going to have to try it next weekend for sure.

Other great breakfasts: pancakes, cheese grits, breakfast burritoes with eggs scrambled with salsa.

Today the boy ran out for me and brought me a cherry danish and cinnamon buns from Safeway, and a caramel machiato from Starbucks to share. (I gave him my cinnamon bun to save for later though, 'cause it was a big-ass danish.) Later we had creamsicle floats with orange crush and vanilla ice cream, out in the spring air! It was really nice.

Mmm. I've been meaning to make sticky rolls.

This morning we had maple yogurt with frozen blueberries and cinnamon Life. Even though it's way early, it's really lovely to eat breakfast together. I'm still getting used to it.

My breakfast yesterday was way better than today. The captain and I waited in line for a whole 5 minutes at a hotel and what did we get for our trouble? Free breakfast buffet!

I had: Scrambled eggs, bacon, granola with milk, fresh pineapple and watermelon slices, dilly herb cheese and smoked swiss, croissant, and a bite of a corn muffin that I snuck out in my purse and was smashed on the train.

Today's breakfast was a cheese bagel and a glass of orange juice.

egg-in-the-whole in my house has always been called 'a nest' thats so cool that there are different names for it!

Cheerios. Not very exciting, but I had to be in class at 9:00.

My usual weekend omlet, bacon and 2 cups of coffee. The omlet had cheese, tomatoes and mushrooms-quite yummy. Oh, yes, and the company of Madame Diana Gabaldon and Jamie Roy. Beats the company of crew chiefs. q-:

(Today's a goal day for most of the base, so most folks get the day off. Except for said crew chiefs and a few others.)

Coffee with cream and sugar. (3 WW pts.)

I've been way too lazy for breakfast lately. Since I'm not really an egg eater, breakfast usually involves bagels or pancakes. Both those things are fairly point-y, so I try to back off in the morning, maybe eat some fruit during my break at work, and save my points for the rest of the day.

Guacamole Lays and a Coke. I forgot the candy on my way to work.

By denimqueen On 03/29/04

half a grapefruit, and a bowl of cornflakes with half a banana on top, unfourtunatley there wasn't enough milk or soymilk. so i kinda had to choke it down.

By kittyroc On 03/29/04

I had a split sourdough english muffin, toasted with peanut butter and honey, a berry smoothie and a glass of oj.

By SubtleBliss On 03/29/04

Today for breakfast I had a chocolate cake donut from Dunkin' Donuts, a glass of water, and my multivitamin...yeah, real healthy...

My mom used to make me egg in the hole, but she always called it "egg in a frame."

Urgh, this thread is making me feel sad. I'm so bad about breakfast... I live in residence, and it is apartment style but sharing with 3 others means not much fridge space and the countertops and stovetop always FULL of dirty dishes... so I never get to COOK!

I'm really looking forward to making breakfast when I get my own place... I really like the idea of getting up an hour earlier than I normally would to have muffins or porridge or homemade chai or something yummy.

I ate today's breakfast during a Roman Culture lecture... one One Bite Brownie, a banana fruit strip thing, peach juice box and a bottle of water.

By nicegirl512 On 03/29/04

I had the usual--oatmeal cooked with raisins, soy protein powder, and flax seeds, and then topped with cinnamon, applesauce, and skim milk. Plus my multi-vitamin. You'd think I'd get sick of oatmeal after eating it for breakfast every morning for about four years, but no. I love it. When it gets warm I might get sick of it and have Kashi Go Lean or something a few mornings a week.

By meadow On 03/29/04

A pudding pop. I blame you all.

I usually don't eat breakfast, and I know what a no no that is, if I woke up earlier I totally would though.

By klara.detroit On 03/29/04

I actually took a morning flight so I had airplane breakfast served in a small plastic box marked "Early bird".

It contained youghurt, musli, butter, ham, cheese jam, oj and then the nice lady served warm bread and non-tasteful coffee. I ate it all, except the jam which I found to late...

I love airplane food. It's all so very tiny and well-fitted in the containers. It impresses me.

By fuzzydice On 03/29/04

my mom made me oatmeal this morning :). She almost never makes breakfast for me so I felt really special. It had some brown sugar and honey on top

By ai On 03/29/04

By copacetic On 03/29/04

I had the same thing I eat everyday, and what I wish I could eat for every meal: Cherry Pop-Tarts. YUMMMM!!!

By good.disaster On 03/29/04
