Has anyone ever made their own sandwich board?

(Except a whole lot cheaper, I'm hopin').

I'm trying to google for some plans to make my own, but I can't find any. It doesn't have to be that fancy. Just two sheets of plain wood attached with a hinge. I'm not a woodworker myself, but could either get friends to help with that, or could just buy the wood pre-cut and assemble it at home. I realize it's probably not that difficult to experiment with, but I'd prefer to take the guesswork out and get plans from a tried-and-true version that I can be sure won't be a waste of money, time or wood, and one that won't fall down at the first gust of wind.

Thanks!

we had a chalkboard one at the coffeeshop i worked at. you could easily just do what you were saying. but i would suggest to get some pretty heavy wood (whatever kind you use). and put a chain on both sides to keep it from splaying out. im sure that you could probably ask the lumber guys at home depot or lowes or where ever you go, what they think.

Oh, asking the Home Depot staff for help is a great idea! Doh! I'm not sure what that didn't occur to me. Thanks!
