I have used the cp for years and I disagree. I feel that it makes meat (beef and chicken)and potatoes fork tender but not mushy. Also, anytime I've made one of those dishes with rice and soup the rice turns out fine. (Just spray the pot first.)

Do you spray the pot with cooking oil? Does it burn otherwise?

By rita0373 On 03/18/04

I don't usually spray it. The only time I recommend it is when you are putting rice in the cp, sometimes it can stick to the sides.

wow, all I ever make in my crock pot is melt&pour soap, but now I wanna make chicken curry! thanks glitter for opening my eyes to the joy of crock-potting!

The crockpot is great for cooking beans, just rinse and cover with water and cook all day on low, great for chili.
My most favorite, favorite recipe for the crock pot and possbily ever, is for chicken cacciatore. SOOO yummy and super easy!! The chicken is falling apart delicious!!

Yeah, chicken cacciatore is another one we do, too!

We also like this creamy lemon-chicken sauce you can get- basically any of your "Chicken Tonight" varietals will work in the cp, and better than on the stovetop!
