Does anyone know any good websites in not-too-advanced French? My French is verrrry rusty (after almost 5 years of not using it) and I don't want to lose it all... I was thinking online magazines or something; sites for young people perhaps? Or texts especially for people learning French? (I'm not looking for online courses, just things to read in French.)

I'm also looking for similar sites in Dutch, though my Dutch is probably better than my French so I could try a more advanced level, like newspapers or something...but it has to be fun. :-) I've found http://www.oor.nl/ but my computer can't always handle the Flash. :-(

it's a 'women's interests' website, the French is basic, covers a lot of topics (very fluffy btw) and there are tons of forums if you want to chat (but beware, the spelling and grammar are really really bad sometimes)

Interesting Dutch websites are a little hard to find, since most dutchies write in english in order to reach a larger audience. Most worthwhile creative and artistic websites will therefore not be in my native tongue.
Nevertheless I have a few suggestions for you:
- For some light, but not really very PC fun, try out http://www.retecool.com (retecool means something like "wicked cool") This log provides loser links in the spirit of somethingawful's Awful Link Of The Day and some general topics concerning the weird and wicked world of online gibberish. Open debates allow you to practice your written Dutch as well. A lot of slang might make it a little hard to read.
- http://www.geenstijl.nl is a personal log, taking a tongue in cheek aproach to current affairs in Dutch society. Sort of.
- http://www.volkskrant.nl is the homepage of what I consider the Netherlands' best newspaper. The website and boards use little to no slang, so it's very dictionary friendly. You will however have to register (for free) to view most of the pages.
- http://www.vrouwonline.nl is an online magazine for women. It's tremendously stale and targets your general population of target grouped housewives (and not the cool crafty type either), providing links to cheapo astrology and fad diet tips and tricks. It's written in a very aproachable style, but please beware the prevalent "Durrrr, math is hard!" content.
