Just had an amazing date last night and am still feeling sooooooo great about it (all warm'n'fuzzy) so I thought I'd start a thread on some of the lovely things that boys/girls have said to you (in a romantic mushy sense).
My date said to me last night 'I think you're beautiful' awwwwwwwww it's been AGES since someone told me that. what's been said to you?

My guy tells me i'm beautiful (and after 4 years) he can still make me blush.

from a long ago love

Great thread!

I once met a boy at about 11:30 PM one night. He lived a million miles away and was leaving early the next morning. After hours of talking and an hour of smoochin', he whispered in my ear, "If we lived in the same place, your daddy would hate me, because I think I'd ask you to marry me."

My husband once said to me "You're not *that* crazy!". In context, it was extremely sweet.

By looloo On 02/11/04

my husband (prior to being my husband) said "everytime I see you I just want to kiss you"

One very sexy Scot (not my husband - way before him) once said to me, "I could come just looking at you."

Oh man.....It's hard to remember what I looked like back then, as I sit here, anxious about getting rid of the extra pounds from baby number 2...and trying not to look too frumpy.

while vacationing in spain, i asked an englishman i'd been hanging out with if he'd mind walking me back to my hotel, as it was very late & dark. he jumped up, bowed deeply, and replied, "i'd be dead proud to walk you home!"

still makes me smile, all these many years later.

Old friendboy, on several occasions, said "Stephanie, you're a doll." So cute. Also said the scarf I knitted him for X-mas was the nicest gift he'd ever gotten.

New friendboy says nice stuff all the time. I wore my hair different one day, and he just couldn't stop saying how nice I looked. No one ever says that. Not even my mother. Also, we were talking about teeth, and I mentioned I have had 13 fillings. I wondered aloud about why my teeth were so bad, and he said, "because you're so sweet." Definitely had me blushing. And every once and a while, we'll be mock-fighting about something silly and just messing around, and he'll reconcile and say, "that's ok, I still love you." That phrase just can't be tossed around enough!

(gee, can you tell I like new friendboy?) :)

the first one that came to my head is from one of the first nights mr. pagoda and i spent together - i said something really sad re: my self-image and he said, 'just let me be attracted to you.' in the moment, it was mind-blowing.

a guy i had been seeing and i, and a few other people, went bowling one night, and later on he and i were having one of those amazing 12 hour conversations, and he said he'd been watching me walk up to the lane, and that i had a great swagger. :) a little while later, in a moment of charged quiet, he asked, 'can i kiss you'

on our first "real" date with my boy, he gave me a sweet kiss goodnight at the door. he went out the door (which i kept open, watching him) and walked halfway down the stairs and then said "i want to kiss you again" and ran back up the stairs.
i totally melted.

the other day, we were getting ready for bed, just brushing our teeth and such and he turn and looked at me and said, "you're my best girl" and it was the sweetest thing.

Okay, so this one came from a random frat boy I made out with in a parking lot during a music festival, but I enjoyed it--"You are so awesome."

It's good to be awesome.

One of my favorites (from a guy that actually broke my heart later) will always be, "I really like your style."

Neither of them are terribly romantic but they were great statements at the time they were made.

ooohh, i thought of another one, about four days after we met (and many lingering goodbyes). i was at a bar with my friends, he was coming to meet up with me. He showed up later than he'd planned, and he came by to tell me he couldn't stay, his good friend had just been broken up with and needed support. We were in the middle of the dance floor, and I looked at him and without thinking, kissed him. he looked stunned. I thought "oh no, what did i do?" and after a moment, he smiles and says "i've been wanting to do that for the past four days!!"
awwwwwwww, just writing about it makes me happy. my guy is great!!!! and super cutie!!!!

A guy in a bar who I had a two month fling with, on the first night we met: "You're the best kind of girl, hot on the outside and nerdy on the inside." I think that's the best compliment I've ever had.

By Lyssalicious On 02/12/04

My fake internet boyfriend tells me I'm amazing on an almost daily basis. One of my favorites is "you're amazing and thinking of you gets me through every day." Sigh.

Also, in high school, this guy said about me (not to me, but about me so I think it counts), "I want to find a girl just like Alyssa. Actually, I just want Alyssa." So damn flattering.

My latest Attached Salsa Guy (this is a category only for me, I realize) said, the night that we were on the verge of going home together had it not been for his girlfriend waiting in his apt for him -- I was leaving for Spain the next day for an indefinite amount of time, 'I'm usually not optimistic, but I think I'll see you again.' Before grabbing me and kissing me passionately. I love those rare drunken subway station scenes (when they involve me -- not when I have to watch others engage in them.) Why, oh why, though, do I keep attracting un-single men?

By neon_pixie On 02/13/04

Anyone that I've kissed has says I'm an amazing kisser, and anyone that's seen my breasts had said I have perfect nipples. I do not know how much of this is coincidence or flattery, but it makes me feel one hella hunk of good.

Also I have some love letters that are very beautiful and strange....

I'm a big fan of "I like your style", too, and something like "I am so honoured you would spend your priceless attention on me", written on a napkin in my wallet.
