Topic LUNCHEON/FUNDRAISER - WESTERN - IDEAS? Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

By faerie_eyez On 02/09/04

Hi all! Throughout the year, my office holds mini fundraisers (luncheons, usually) to raise money for a Christmas family. In December, we take the proceeds, select a family in need, and buy them gifts, certificates, a Christmas dinner, etc.

Our first luncheon will be in March, and I'm trying to work up the fliers for it. It's going to be a Chili Cook-off...any ideas for cute wording, or just general ideas? I'm not actually on this team that's putting the lunch on, but I'm helping out and I'd like input. I'll be checking on and off while I'm working, so any feedback you could give me would be really great!

And remember, it's for a good cause!

Oh dear, I'm in midst of fundraiser hell myself. MMMMM-Chili. So how do these fundraisers work for your company? Do they donate money to enter? Does the left-over chili go to a foodshelf?

Warm up chilly March with some chili? I could go on for days with stupid puns like that. How does the cause work is your main focus. Also, think about your location in the US. Can you make a joke about your city/state's name? I live in Minneapolis, so I'm thinking "Chili-apolis" - snort. Or, if your office is liberal enough, "Make your farts pay off". Okay, I worked in advertising for a while and they were a little gross in the office. Chili is awesome. Think of all the bean jokes you can make. Or have a burp-off after the tasting. Winner gets a free day off from work, but has to do community service that day for the charity. Or has to buy a round of beer for the losers. Even better, BOTH.

It's late and I'm tired. I hope I didn't offend. But I DO crack myself up. "Fartastic!"

Good luck, and let me know how it goes! No pun intended that time. Honest.

How timely! we're having our annual Chili Cook-off next week and I'm hoping to hold a raffle in conjunction to raise money for our ACS relay for life team.

Sorry, I don't have any ideas, but good luck!
