Topic unused make-up & beauty supplies? Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

I don't know how these would translate into a craft project... but then again, you never know. Or maybe someone knows of an organization that takes these kinds of donations for women? Or, maybe someone out there would like them...

I have recently become very sensitive to many kinds of chemicals found in make-up, perfumes, scented beauty products, etc. I'm more of a natural girl and never really wore much make-up anyway, but for some reason I've always purchased these things thinking one day I may start wearing them! So as a result I have a TON of make-up that has never been used (or if it has, only once to test it and never again), lotions, perfumed lotions, scented body washes, etc.

I know it's kind of a tricky situation with cosmetics and health reasons. But rest assured, I'm healthy. But apparently my skin just doesn't like foreign substances anymore.
Any kind of suggestions would be greatly appreciated, girls. Thanks!

I know most shelters will take unused lotions and body washes and stuff. the women's shelter near us is always trying to find donations for that kind of stuff, including make up.

do you go to a church? I'd ask a church office. they might be doing a collection soon, or else they'll probably know of an org. that would want that kind of stuff.

but don't give stuff away that's been tested (unless they tell you to. I remember one time they said it was ok as long as it was lotion and not make up... it was kinda wierd.). I'd try seeing if any of your friends might want it. I know that my friends have given each other stuff like that before because they didn't like the scent or what not.

I don't know if you knew this..but heat up some vaseline and sprinkle some blush or powder in...stur around (but dont mkae it liquid!!) and you have yourself some lip gloss. I don't know if your lips react to blush or whatnot.
