Topic Ready to launch the site but.... Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

I'm about to launch the beta version of my store but in choosing the host, I don't know whether I should sign up for the mega mega business plan or if the basic one will suit me just fine. I don't have a shopping cart yet so for the time being, this is a bit of a glorified brochure/portfolio site.

I'm anxious to hear from those of you with viable web businesses if you went full tilt with it on the hosting tip from the get go or just started out basic and upgraded as needed. Personally, I think 500 MB is just fine for now, but I'm a taddy bit unsure.

Also, anyone have any reviews on the following hosting sites:

www.eryxma.com
www.dreamhost.com
www.surpasshosting.com

Thanks!

I am using surpass and I love them. You get so much space and bandwidth for such a small amount of money. Also the shopping cart is included in the price of the package. I went with the 2nd cheapest plan and I get 15G of bandwidth.

I love Surpass too BUT I have had a lot of outages in the past 2 weeks b/c of a hacker, including right now. Granted, a hacker can strike on any server, any time, but still. Thankfully, Surpass is generally pretty personable and handles things quickly, but needless to say I'm still getting frustrated. I may switch if things don't get fixed asap.

Curious to hear thoughts on the other hosts you noted.
