Topic Wrist/ankle restraints? Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

By Sporkin On 12/05/03

First, let me apologize if this is too personal or too disturbing! I just figured that since I wasnt having any luck with finding ideas on the internet...what better place to ask for ideas than Glitter?

Anyhoo...

Im quite enjoying the "Box of Sin" idea, and am making one for my boyfriend for xmas.
I've modified it a bit - it's now the "Tin of Sin" - I bought a decent sized metal lunch box from walmart for $2.50 and am planning on covering it with pervy pictures and naughty words. I figured metal would work better since I plan on making dirty word magnetic poetry.

So far, Im going to make a feather tickler and blindfold, and get some "dirty dice" and condoms.

Here's my dilemma: I'd love to make some hand and ankle restraints to throw in, too, instead of scarves or whatever. Any ideas on how to make them?
I was thinking maybe some fur covered nylon webbing? But then again, there would be nowhere to really attach hooks and D-rings to them. They'd need to be wide (around 2 inches) so as to not chafe or cut the skin, but strong enough to not break or open with a little pressure.
Let me emphasize that I will NOT use leather ones, so I was looking for an equally attractive and seductive material, just minus the animal skin (and smell!) Any ideas?

Also, anything else along these lines that would go well in my "Tin of Sin?"

Somebody on this board referred to doing a Google search for a Honeydust recipe, but I didn't see the recipe itself (I'm hoping this will shake the original poster out of the woodwork and she'll share!)

Jar of honey? Hot sauce?
Candles (and matches, of course)?
One of those (medicinal) cold pack thingies?
Silk scarves (not for tying, but for texture play)? Piece of velvet (also for texture play)?
Naughty book? Gift subscription to his favorite smut?

About your restraints: why don't you make them with two layers of webbing, a skinnier layer with d-rings sewn in, on top of a wider layer, and then line the whole caboodle with something furry, or maybe velvet.

I've made hand and wrist restraints before. Get yourself some dog collars made out of that vinyl webbing material. Cut them short and put holes in them. For the holes you'll need to heat something like a nail or soldering iron to go all the way thru.

I loved using dog collars because they come in all sorts of colors. Hemp fabric also works well-it's all natural and more bendable.

Some more Tin of Sin ideas-don't know if you're into it but clothespins and/or nipple clamps are small and you could easily fit a good handful in the tin.

http://www.cdwplus.com/ for all your pet collar-connector needs! hey, if it works it works. the kit will include at least one d-ring with each buckle. should be enough.

heavy duty snaps (two stacked vertically on top of eachother; can do several rows for adjustability) can also work well and make it easier to escape when the doorbell rings. ;)

personally, i'd recommend you make sure to line them with really nice thick fur. doesn't have to be real, obviously. something like fleece would feel soft but be way too thin on it's own (most anything would, come to think of it) so it will feel better (and result in less bruising! *hint*hint*) if you pad with some mutliple layers of thick fabric or stuffing.

This is the thread for honey dust(not my post but I liked the idea, too!)>http://discuss.gromco.com/mwforum/topic_show.pl?id=35518
What about adding a massage bar to your tin? I made this hand salve a few days ago and it makes a great massage balm as well:>http://www.pvsoap.com/recipe_gardeners_salve.htm
Just substitute the lavender for something more sensual like ylang ylang and bergamot, for example. Pour the melted salve into a heart-shaped plastic container,(or a xxx-shaped plastic container!) and it will keep the shape when it hardens. I found all of the ingredients at a health food store and used sheets of beeswax rather than beads.

Hmmm.

I'd forgotten I had these but this thread reminded me ...

A few years ago, my son (6-months-old at the time) had surgery, and they put restraints on both his wrists/forearms and apparently one leg (I have three) so he wouldn't pull tubes/wires out. Because I am my mother's daughter (she kept things for bizarre unknown reasons, too), I still have them ... and no use for them. They remind me of a painful time but I kept them because god knows we paid for EVERYTHING ...

Anyway, I'm happy to offer them to any glitter-ite who'd want them, for restraint or any other purpose ;) assuming you're only going to use them on a consenting adult. They're white and tan, pretty "hospital" looking. Each one is 12" long (plus the velcro tabs that stick out), and 7" wide ... in other words, it fits around my forearm but not my upper arm. The 7" dimension is boned, apparently ... so it will create a stiff, straight tube that's about 7 inches long and anywhere from 0-maybe 4" in diameter (I'll leave the visuals up to your imagination). *lol* Oh, and there's a tag that reads "small" on it -- could do alot for a man's ego, eh?!

Soft foam on the inside, only rough seams on the outside. No d-rings or anything else on the outside -- as I recall, they just tied him to the bedrails, with part of the tape tied around these things -- but I'm sure you could easily sew in d-rings and attach them to one of the "bones" for durability.

So ... for what it's worth ... free to the first one who e-mails and asks for them.

I know this is kinda dead, but, anyone have any idea for light-weight type restraints that are made out of normal stuff? I'd make them out of webbing and all, but I'm a broke college student (hehe... yes, yes, I know....) and I don't have a car where I'm living. any ideas?

You can use stockings or socks or something stretchy and this special knot(you should practice a lot before actually doing it cus it is a little bit tricky at first, especially if the lights are off or low or you aren't thinking properly *ahem*)..
(directions taken from here: http://sdayouth.cybersite.com.au/pathfind/special/communit/firstaid/faid4.htm)
To make a Clove Hitch.

a) Take a narrow folded bandage and make a loop.

b) Make a second loop and place it on top of the first.

c) Place the top loop behind the first loop without turning either loop

ps. I learnt this at a first aid course I did, and the teacher kindly pointed out that the knot is good for use in sex play because no matter how much the restrained person struggles, the knot wont get tight enough to cut off the circulation. Good stuff.

luci mama, those restraints sound intruiging, Id ask for them, but I dont know what my parents would think when they arrived in the mail :)

By luci_mama On 01/11/04

Well, I don't think they'd have any idea you might want to use them for, ummm, nefarious purposes. They'd probably wonder what the heck you're gonna do with these medical-looking things, though!

However, since nobody responded for a few weeks, I sent them to the recycling center! Sorry!

just as a side note, I found out that men's neck ties work really well with the knot. ok, now I'm blushing...
