This year, I'm admitting I have too much on my plate to include designing and printing my own holiday cards. Looking for handmade, quirky, non-denominational, ordering over internet a plus. Where would you go?

not exactly handmade, but http://thechildhealthsite.com has a link to a card company that gives donations after you click donate now:>http://www.gearthatgives.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/CTDStore.woa/wa/item?siteID=314&categoryID=333&itemID=4893&origin=CH_tr_03_CapeHatterasCard_G_125

I'd go through the child health site so you get teh extra giving tho.
>http://www.therainforestsite.com also has one:>http://www.gearthatgives.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/CTDStore.woa/wa/item?siteID=221&categoryID=333&itemID=4919&origin=RS_hr_03_BreakingCoverCard_G_100
>http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com has one as well
>http://www.gearthatgives.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/CTDStore.woa/wa/item?siteID=310&categoryID=333&itemID=1760&origin=AR_hr_01_NorthernGuardianCard_G_100

so at least you can feel good about your over the internet purchase, even if it's not that quirky or hand made...

My mom and sister made a ton of *gorgeous* holiday cards. Unfortunately, I have no scanner, but if you're interested I can describe them to you. For instance, there is one set of four in a blue flecked paper background with a corrugated paper snowflake die cut brushed with gold paint on a solid blue square, and it has a Seasons Greetings stamp accented with tiny deep purple/blue stars with ultrafine glitter. I'm not describing well, but they funky, non-traditional, and really pretty (and believe me, I do *not* have the same taste as my mom and sis and am quite impressed they could come up with something so hip). It's $5 for a set of 4. Their cards are between $1 and $2 each, and there are plenty of funky nondenominational cards.

Although most are Christmas related, there is a wonderful one that was created for the holiday after 9/11 called Peace. http://frenchtoastgirl.com/store/index.shtml

http://www.redbatpress.com/mailableart.htm has some great ones
>http://www.newfieldgreetings.com has beautiful ones too

--they aren't "holiday" but they could be if you write your own message, which I think is fun anyway...

or I put some instructions on making your own cards on my site: http://www.susanstars.com/how_to.html

All handmade by the women of Portland, Oregon :)

You won't be able to order them online, but the website lists store locations in the US and Canada, so provided you live in either of those places, you're good.

Ten Thousand Villages is a great organization - everything they sell is Fair-trade.

Thank you, ladies! I'll be buying an assortment from some of your suggestions to supplement the cards I buy from a local homeless shelter ($10 each, I love supporting them but I don't have the money to send them to everyone on my list).
