hey all, i suppose i'll give a quick self introduction, since i'm relatively new and have only been lurking so far. i'm kate and i'm terrible at crafting, nothing comes out the way i think it will, but dammit i'm going to keep trying.

anyway, so i'm sitting here watching "joe millionaire" for some strange reason, and all it's doing is irking me beyond belief. i mean, i know these aren't real honest-to-goodness people, that they're chosen specifically because they're incredibly shallow and scandalous to watch, but somehow it still makes me ill. i feel like 95% of the shows on tv these days are just perpetuating the incredible selfishness that so many people seem to have fallen into. i guess it doesn't help that every commercial break is dotted with ads for gigantic SUVs.

so anyway, my point being, does anyone else think that shows like "joe millionaire" and "paradise island" are sign of the apocalypse #752?

I completely agree with you. When I tell my coworkers that I don't watch reality TV...they say I am "no fun...I mean, doesn't it make you fell better to watch people behave so stupidly???" If all it took to make me feel better was watching people make complete asses of themselves, then I would be on cloud 9. But no...it makes me angry and sad in a way that I cannot describe. I still watch TV..."Law and Order", "The Simpsons", even "Friends". But I can't dig the whole reality thing.

I am soooo with you on the apocalypse thing...
