I'm going to TARGET! Yay. Ok, some of you are thinking "Whoa. Crazy girl" but Target is 2 hours away and I love it there. All we have where I live in a Walmart so Target is like a vacation for my wallet! PLUS: Since it's my anniversary, my boy toy is giving me a gift card for Target so I will finally buy something there (I usually can't afford to buy just browse). I've been sitting here all week thinking about what I want to buy!

By s.rock On 11/12/03

dude, i think target is delightful too, but when somebody puts "fluffers" in a thread title all i can think is "porn set".

By DeborahM On 11/12/03

I'm dying to go there and hunt down the silver rinestone studded fishnets from thier commercials. But alas.I am on anti-consumerism bing.
Happy shopping!

By dustbunny On 11/13/03

Those are the coolest hose I have ever seen. I'm not sure if they sell them though, I just thought they were for the dancers in the ad. But if they do sell I need to buy them, I love spending money!

By XoeCraft On 11/12/03

That's what I was thinking too! I was like "They have fluffers at Target?" And then I was wondering who the Fluffers were for. Then I thought "Hey, maybe the post is targeted at anyone who has worked as a fluffer." That would be a pretty interesting topic!

Not that shopping at Target isn't interesting. It is! Just not as interesting as a thread targeted at Fluffers.

Dude- I feel ya. I don't have a Target (except for 2.5 hrs away) and so when I visit my family in GA next month I am definitely going there!

By moon_lemming On 11/12/03

Ha! That was my exact chain of thought, too, XoeCraft! It's the best title ever.

I also love Target, although I always spend money I don't have there, and the boy hates it because I browse forever. But I'm lucky because ours is only twenty minutes away, in town with everything else. Although the traffic on the weekends makes up for the luckiness.

Anyway, Target! Woot!

By invisilurker On 11/12/03

I love target! We don't have one here...it's about a half an hour drive away. I love going in there though. They have the greatest stuff, and they always have the best little boys shirts. I buy the larges to wear myself sometimes.
Those fishnets sound awesome.

By zil On 11/12/03

My closest Target is rather far away too. When I go I know I've gotta pick up a pair of fake Ugg boots. F-ugg-ly but I want to wear 'em around the house like slippers. I think they'll be warm and cozy.

Commercial - the new one with the "New Toy" song by Lene Lovich. God I guess this shows how old I am. Frightening all around.

By Vikarious On 11/12/03

I'm gonna make you all jealous...maybe.

I work part time at Target. I get to do nothing BUT browse. It's funny to hear that some of you don't have Target's near you, cause here in MN they're everywhere. As they should be.
I even still shop at the very first Target ever built. How crazy is that?

I actually work at a SuperTarget...it has ALL of the good stuff, and a grocery store, and then even MORE of the good stuff. I love it.

I work there about 3 days a week, and I go shopping at least one other day. It's actually getting to the pathetic point.

But yeah, Target has great stuff and it's only getting better. For you girls that aren't in close proximity....I'm SO sorry. You can always browse online.

i love target too. i live in wisconsin, and there's plenty of them here. (yay for supertarget! it's the only place around here that sells jones soda... i'd die without it.)

i was thinking of applying to work there, but i know too many people there that i certainly don't want to work with.

By twistdjoy On 11/13/03

Another Target fan here! My partner works there, and here's our problem: she's in assets protection, which means that a huge part of her job involves walking around the store all day, browsing, while keeping an eye out for shoplifters. Do you have any idea how much money you can spend if you browse around Target 30 or 40 hours a week? It's frightening! We finally decided that the safest thing to do is leave her wallet at home unless a purchase is planned in advance. That's working out pretty well so far.

Ok, I got off on a tangent, but I can completely relate to being excited about going to Target, no matter how close or far the nearest one is.

By Jesser On 11/13/03

wow! another glitter girl in WI! you can't live in Mad-city though. We don't have any Super Targets here. Just a Target Greatland. Which fair WI city do you hail from???

By guttergrrl On 11/13/03

hehe... how timely. I have my Target orientation on Saturday. It's just a part-time seasonal job for some extra holiday cash. I know I'll be let go in January, but I might try to reapply later on.

By MonkeyMagic On 11/13/03

I wondered about the fluffers at target. THey don't have those in New Mexico!
target rules!!! My guy (Mr. Monkey I suppose) refuses to go there anymore because he feels like we're always at Target.

When I started college there were 2 Targets in the entire state of Louisiana, both a couple of hours away. We often talked about taking a Sunday road trip just for Target. We never did, but it was a happy thought. Instead, it was about the first place I went anytime that I went home.

Then, I moved to a little town elsewhere in Louisiana which was an hour away from a brand new Super-Target. We took the trip up once a month or so and it was like heaven. That and Old Navy.

Now, I have two within about 7 miles and while I love having them that close, it's not so magical going there as often. Maybe I'll put myself on a month-long ban or something so it's extra-special the next time I go.

As for the money issue, sometimes, when I need a fix, I will go in without my wallet or with just a 5 dollar bill and wander around. It seems to work to keep me going.

I love, love, love Target! Last time I shopped, I went in for a pair of plain black tights, walked out with black floral tights, gray chunky knit leg warmers, black and white striped socks, and a box of giant goldfish. Danger.

good.disaster - Starbucks sells Jones soda. My store has orange cream and root beer...it's yummy, yummy.

By good.disaster On 11/13/03

i always buy socks when i go to target. even if i just go in for a few minutes, i always leave with socks. black and white striped kneesocks, pastel argyle kneesocks with little cherries on them, regular socks with a pin-up girl on the side.....

Jesser: i'm on the other side of the state (eau claire). everytime i stumble upon someone from wisconsin, they always live clear across state.

kristenasaurus: we didn't even have a starbucks around here until they upgraded the target to supertarget. now it's right in the front of the store.

By jtsang On 11/13/03

hooray for target, I got all of my sock dog supplies there in their clearance section. Including angora socks for a sock animal swap.

The only thing I don't like about target is that they don't have craft supplies...well that and the fact that it's too hot so it's hard to browse in there if you wear long sleeves

I don't wanna love Tar-shay, but I adore it.

I won't go back to a certain Target, though, 'cause they rung me up for 3 shirts when I bought 2. :(
I didn't catch it till I got home, and I've noticed that clerks in certain neighborhoods will give you the most incredible hassle, and think they're trying to scam 'em, if you try to fix any sort of problem like that, so I didn't even bother. (argh.)

I always get nice compliments on my cheap target socks, and my shirts from target.

Shopping at Target makes me Stupid Happy. Seriously. Sometimes the music just makes me wanna dance down the aisles like I'm Snoopy.

I get idiot's delight, shopping at Target. And then I go home and wonder whether some kid in China made my new stuff.

Best recent target purchase: 2-pack of low-rise undies. One pair is yellow, with a teeny orange ruffle. On the front it says "In the Beginning..." The other pair is lilac, with a turquoise ruffle. It says "The End" on the bum. ;) (Perfect skivvies for a would-be author!!! I end up smiling like a doof whenever I wear those. "You should know by my underwear that I'm a writer!")

By Laurasia_ On 11/13/03

Wow, I'm glad to see that other people like Target! I always end up buying too much there. I went there last Sunday (only 15 minutes away) to buy a pair of tights and some plastic storage bins and came out with almost $100 worth of stuff (and not storage bins!). Oops.

By researchasaurus On 11/13/03

Count me in on the Target-loving too.

I got that Isaac Mizrahi black corduroy skirt and I love the hell out of it. (The stuff that went with it...a little too neon pink/orange for my taste though.)

My sister used to work at Target forever. She's a social retard. Whenever we go shopping when we're both home visiting the folks, she won't go there because she doesn't want to run into anyone she might know. So, I go by myself!

By AesSedai On 11/13/03

Oh man- I wonder if they sell the cord skirts on the website. The website has a horrible representation of what you can actually buy in the store. If i recall they don't even have any of their tights on the webpage. I can't wait till March, when the Target near me finally is completed!

By kittyroc On 11/14/03

Wow. I feel fortunate. My Target is less than 10 minutes from my house! I go there like twice a week. My favorite thing to do there is go through the clearance racks in the clothes department. They have such cute stuff! My most favorite pair of jeans came from there. They fit perfectly and they cost 11 bucks. I love Target. I also love the many pairs of striped socks I got from there.
