I just received my order from Tap Plastics today! I also got mold builder and dye so Ill be having some fun. I want to start by making some simple earrings but those snowflakes are so tempting.

Looks like the centers are cut out of colored tissue paper using snowflake patterns. Then you pour resin the depth you want, let it sit for 20 min, then use a toothpick to evenly push the tissue into the resin until it's roughly in the middle of it all. Make sure you blow off the bubbles as they rise to the surface. Wear a ventilator mask (Home Depot, paint section).

i agree with kazoogrrl, but i think you'd want to use casting resin. if you use envirotex and pour it into a container the envirotex liked a lot it would refuse to come out when you wanted it to. either casting resin OR i found out the most fantastic thing about resin: it DOES NOT STICK TO WAXED PAPER. you can make the most fan-friggin-tastic little drops that look like water with envirotex on the waxed paper. maybe you could make a dam out of something on waxed paper and make the ornaments that way with envirotex.

I filled in a record bowl with a layer of resin in the bottom (Both to preserve the cute label and fill in the hole.) Underneath, I just put a sheet of that non-stick foil. It's made by Reynold's and I think it's called quick release. Yes, it did make a slight imprint of the "This is the nonstick side" but it did release very well. Perhaps regular foil could work similarly.
