has anyone ever tried ironing on designs on transfer paper to a shirt? if so, have you had good luck?

basically, my iron-ons always come out faded and look way lighter than intended.

i used my friend's heat press the other night and the quality difference was ridiculously obvious. so now i want a heat press.

anyone know of a cheap place to purchase/rent heat presses? or do any crafts stores sell a smaller personal use model instead of a commercial model?
