Well, my grandparents recently moved into a hostel and we had to clean all their stuff out of the house.
I made the best find in the garage, a really old fifties/sixties style fridge, y know with the rounded top and the funny handle? and it still works!! Double bonus!! so I'm wondering ... does anyone have any ideas as to what I could do on the outside? or the inside or whatever!? it's currently cream in colour and I've been thinking about painting it, but I dunno any suggestions would be most welcome!! Also does anyone know of any really cool fridge magnet ideas??
Thanks glitterati!

I love the vintage look! I wouldn't do anything to it, and just use it! Clean it, of course. Magnets is probably as far as I would go.... Marble magnets, of course! Maybe use a piece of cardboard or tackboard or something stiff... And print out vintage pictures, like pinup girls, and decopauge (sp?????) it to the board, and use a magnet on the back?

Hey, I saw this idea before.... You can use the fridge as a closet for hanging your clothing!

There was this really cool display of refridgerator art in San Diego like a year ago. Different artists had done different things, like one was underwater, &... stuff. Link: http://www.artwalkinfo.com/fridge.htm
I've always wanted to paint racing stripes down a fridge, & a number. But I agree, it seems a shame to do it to a rad vintage fridge!
Magnets- I took foreign postage stamps, covered w/ contact paper, & glued a magnet on the back. I also took a doll's head, some fake flowers, & small toys & glued magnets on. They're fun! Just make sure the stuff isn't too heavy & the magnet's strong enough, or it will fall off & annoy you. Or you could shellack cookies or crackers & attach a magnet.

Slip cover it in fuzzy fabric. I think it would be a pretty funky looking fridge then. Just be sure to leave the back open so it gets the air it needs to cool off.

Click on the Northstar 50s fridge icon to see the pretty pretty fridges. I am in love with the mint green one!
