Topic items for trade or free... Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

I have a few items that have been in my closet forever that I'd like to get rid of:
1) a brand new roll (25 yards x 18" - it's a huge fat roll!) of silver mylar contact paper (it's a chrome-like finish). I bought this off of ebay for God knows what reason and only opened one end of the shrink wrap. You could probably cover a whole wall with this or a room's floor, some cabinets... the possibilites are endless.
2) 2 rolls of pink hello kitty contact paper (1.5 yards by 18") one roll is partly used (I probably used about a foot and a half), the other is brand new.
3) 7 new boxes of light pink easter string lights. (35 lights, 12 feet long)

It'd be nice if I could get a trade in exchange but I'd be willing to give this stuff away as long as you pay for shipping.
stuff I'd want: random crafting supplies, cool fabric (just enough to make a pillow), old art or design magazines, or let me know watcha got.
I can post pics of this stuff if you want.

What are you looking to trade for the mylar contact paper? I could have lots o' crafty fun with that!

By ahippoatemybaby On 07/14/03

Hmm. I guess to be more specific about craft supplies, probably stuff like fur or fabric scraps, stuff to decoupage with, small blank boxes, things like that.
I also like squirrels, pin-up girls, 60's (mod) and tacky 70's stuff, pop artists...
Heck, even a bag o' candy would make me happy. Surprise me, it'll be more fun that way. The HK paper is pretty lightweight anyway. It's the mylar one that's pretty hefty. Although I suppose I could splice it up if someone just wants half or something. Anyhow, just email me your mailing address.

um, edited to clarify that this was directed to baby raptor. i didn't see thrift store diva left a comment... i guess the same applies though :)

That's a LOTTA mylar ...

I'd like to have some of it, if ThriftStoreDiva doesn't want the whole roll.

I've got some great upholstery fabric that's been waiting to be turned into big pillows that just ain't gonna happen around here. It'd be a good trade for you.

I'd be willing to trade you for a couple boxes of those lights. I have alot of scrap fabric, most of it is at least a yard, some a little less. Email me and I'll let you know what prints I have.

Luci_mama, sounds like a good trade. What does the fabric look like?

Thriftstorediva, did you want the whole thing? How much would each of you like?

By thriftstorediva On 07/14/03

I'll take half if that's workable. I've got all sorts of funky '70s-ish fabric I can send you and some other things. My email is my profile...just send me your address and I'll get a package in the post for you.

Two options:

One, I've got a very big piece (maybe even big enough to reupholster a chair) of a smooth (chintz, I guess you'd call the fabric) heavy cotton(?) that's lots of dark colors in a very complex variation on a paisley, I guess you'd say. It's primarily a deep green with some mustard, red, black, purple, teal ... all with a reflective gold overprint. It's apparently pretreated with some waterproofing, although I can't attest to that. It's really beautiful -- I wanted to make a slipcover for a loveseat we have, but I don't think there's quite enough fabric here for that, and I've been too much of a weinie to cut into it to find out!

The other option is a smaller piece, but still enough for about a 3x4' floor pillow. It's a heavier weave, what I'd call a tapestry fabric since the design is woven in rather than printed on. It's mainly a slightly-lighter-than-denim blue with a black design of leaves on it, big leaves. You could also reverse the fabric if you prefer it to be primarily black with blue leaves.

If neither of these float your boat, let me know and I'll dig around.

If you're interested in one of them, e-mail me at luci/at/onehotmama.zzn.com.

And half the roll of mylar sounds fine to me. I'm already scheming!

Would you like my beads? Our bedroom is futuristic 50s and silver would go great.

WOW - what cool things you're trading!
The only thing I have to trade is polarfleece w/ strange designs (smiley faces, 60's tie dye, polar bears, etc.)
If that would be something you dig, I'd love a set of the pink lights (to make a daisy garland to go over my futon.)
Let me know if they're not all spoken for and if you're in the market for fuzzy fabric!
Good luck,
Cass

helllooooooo? still out there?

I haven't seen a reply to my explanation of the fabric that I have, and I haven't gotten an e-mail.

It's cool if you've just gotten busy or whatever, but I wanted to bump the thread just in case.
