We bought a 1927 house with wood floors. Instead of sealing the floors, we chose to wax them (I don't remember why, but I think it had something to do with the 5 dogs). Anyway, all of the wood floor cleaners say not to use them on unsealed floors or on waxed floors or whatever. So how do I clean my floors? I know I need to find a really good dust mop, but again with the 5 dogs it would be nice to be able to kind of wet-mop the floor.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

i'd just call a wood floor installing place and ask them. they might know the name of a good cleaner, or have some tips. i think you can use Murphy's Oil Soap on waxed floors, too, but you might read the label first.

i have the same situation and i just use warm water with murphy's oil soap. note: i don't use a lot of murphy's and my mop is just barely damp. work's just fine...

Yup. Murphy's oil soap can make the scabbiest grungiest floor look muuuch better. It's like conditioner for your floor.

This isn't quite the same, but for wood-o-philes, this question:

I have hardwood floors in my apartment that have some scratches from moving the coffeetable, etc. I think they are just surface scratches, but I would like to fix them before I move out so I don't get my deposit deducted. Any suggestions for polish/fixer?

rub some mayo into them and wipe if off. that will usually disguise any light-colored scratches in a wooden object for a while.
