i am finishing my small bathroom, and i need painting/other decorating ideas.

~the toilet and sink are sky-blue

~no windows

~shower, but no bathtub

i was thinking of some ocean kind of theme, or something. but that's as far as i've gotten...please help me!

ocean theme would be nice even if it is a bit typical. but if you do want to go with it, you could a make a cute fishy shower curtain. are you renting this place? can you paint on the walls? b/c i handpainted some fish on my friend's bathroom walls and they look really cool.

picking a theme is a good way to go as it can be easy to build on. you could go for a powder puff look with lots of pink and sky blue. with feathery touches here and there.

or pick one or two other colors and have a really geometric theme going on. possibilities with the blue: chocolate brown. or orange and yellow. or green and yellow. or silver. you can get contact paper and cut big squares and rectangles or circles or varying sizes and stick the on the walls in random patterns. as well as the bathroom accessories.

or use all sciencey stuff like test tubes and beakers for yr accessories and have a really minimalist look.

You can buy vinyl stick on appliques if you cant paint the walls. We did my grandmothers bathroom with an ocean theme and although she owns her home she doesnt want to paint. We put vinyl fish appliques on the tile in the shower.

Where do you get those vinyl stickie things and do the come off easily?

You could use colorforms on your walls (those static cling vinyl stickers you played with as a kid.) That way you can change your theme to suit your mood. *robyn
