any tips on attaching fake flowers to string lights?

umm... don't a lot of fake flowers have holes in the middle with stamens attached? You could just push the lights through the holes and they should stay in place.

Ditto,although when I did it alot of the flowers had too small of holes. And when I cut bigger ones I accidently cut a few too big. The best way to enlarge the holes is to cut slits in the edge of the hole,rather than trying to make a bigger circle of a hole. Hope that made sense,lol.
It looks really pretty when you put the same color of flower on the light,like yellow with yellow,red with red,etc. I had a yellow on a blue and it looked wierd.

thanks zanni! i saw some fake pink roses in a store display window over white lights yesterday & they were so pretty. i'd forgotten all about how much i'd wanted to do it myself a while back.
