Hi All. My mom is going to college for the first time and I want to show her I support her. I want to make her sone personalized school supplies. Any ideas?

yet again, Martha has a decent idea. Find some plain pencils, take a thin strip of tape and wrap it around the pencil. Paint and you have stripes on the pencil.

Personalize a pencil bag or binder.

Make a planner for her.

make her a rockin messenger bag :)

Oh, seniorsweetie, that's so cool of you to be so supportive of mom, yaaay!

This is kinda non-crafty, but she might appreciate it if you send her off to her first day of classes with a nice, healthy, yummy lunch. (Maybe like a pita sandwich with salad greens, dressing on the side, and an apple?) And a "I love you, go mom!" note tucked inside.

Don't forget a nice protein in her lunch! Tofu, chicken, tuna, whatever. You need protien to keep your brain functioning properly!

add a soda with caffeine in it, and she'll be all set to survive classes. :-D

A pencil/pen case from felt to roll up(like the kneedle roll ups) and fit in her bag would be cooler than a plastic zip up case!

It would be really nice if you could make one of those portfolios they have at Girl Shop. Its velvet material with satin in the inside, has a pencil loop, and holds a writing tablet. Dont know which boutique its in though...

my mom is in college to- in my major as well. you are a lot more supportve then me! I do all her typing and 'editing' for her, if she sucks at typing you may want to do that for her when you can.

how about bookmarks/pagekeepers for her new wealth of fun reading material? also, you could get her some index cards and cute paperclips for note-taking...and decorate a box to store them in. i always made a ton of notecards to study with, and then somehow lost them in my dorm room. a pretty box to keep them organized would have been much appreciated, and maybe improved some of those test scores.
