I had a brainstorm, and it worked! I took the idea of decorating the tins, and then i took a little mirror that fits inside the lid, and put some red fabric inside....volia i have a makeup mirror, and it fits perfect my favorite eyeshadow. :)

I use to decorate a lot of altoid tins. Mirrors from the covergirl combination foundation and powder makeup fit perfectly inside. I suggest putting them in with hot glue, I used superglue and when it dried it deformed the tin. I would use delia*s catalong for the designs on the sheets, but you can use magazine or anything that has a design big enough to cover one side of the tin. But I like the idea of faborics even better. Then I also lined the corners with puffy paint. You can use them for holding change, as a makeup mirror, holding ear rings and rings, or anything. They are very useful.

What are "altoid" tins? I live in New Zealand and have never heard of them, but the ideas you have come up with sound pretty cool! nicola

altoids are a "curiously strong" mint. Personally i can't stand the taste of the peppermint ones, but i don't mind the cinnamon flavored mints.
