Topic Hightide rocks...marble bracelet Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

I am so excited about the bracelet blank I bought from Meexie (Hightide) through Glam Auctions. After much deliberation I decided to go with black and white retro clip art since it would match with mostly everything. My husband says it's weird in a good way but I totally love it. I put up pic on SCP in the "See What I Made" section http://groups.msn.com/shinycraftypeople/seewhatimade.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1040

Has anyone else done one and if so, what glue did you use? I'm kinda worried the marbles are going to pop off but we'll see!

Thanks for the heads-up. I just bid on one. I like you bracelet. By friend bought one from a shop with cute puppy pics. I don't know what I am going to do, maybe tropical fish.

Yours looks great, did hightide tell you want clue to use, I would just use my hot glue gun unless she said otherwise.

that looks so cool....

Also, what is Glam Auction?

By Bumble V On 11/07/02

it's an auction site that kittencndy (?) put up. It's pretty cool since you don't have to pay a posting fee. I have only great things to say about my interactions!

Monkey, I think glue from a glue gun would pop off way too easily. At least it did when I tried it. I ended up using clear elmers to stick the pic onto the marble and PowerPoxy Stick-on Contact to attach the marble to the bracelet. I think Goop would work well too. Just thought you'd like to know.

Bumble V, it looks fantastic!

I'll be putting more kits up for auction on Glam (http://www.glamourpuss1.com/phpauction/) - and please check out the online mag that KittenCndy does (http://www.glamourpuss1.com/) - great articles and a column by MeliMade!

For gluing the marble to the bracelet: the best is a silicone based adhesive - you can find this at the hardware store (or hardware section of Target, Kmart etc) for way cheaper than at the craft supply stores. It dries clear and is a bit flexible, which you want with something that is going to be worn and moving around a lot.

I'm sure this has been covered a million times on Glitter but...

What are the marbles stuck to? are there flat mounts under there or just jumprings glued to the marbles?

Sorry, I know this has been covered before...
