I was wondering how many people have purchased any crafty items from online sellers, and what they thought of the service and quality. Some sites I frequently visit are:

I want to know which (other) sites you have purchased from and what you thought of the products and service of the site. I personally haven't ordered anything online, but my boyfriend recently ordered a lovely purse from Sparkle Craft for me. I can't wait for it to arrive!

Just wondering has any glitter gals ordered from my shop. http://www.glamourpussshop.com Of course I cant review my own site!

By Bumble V On 09/30/02

I haven't bought anything online YET but I'm in the middle of a trade with Dre http://www.angelfire.com/art2/willowcat/gallery.html
and she has been really patient and kind. I'm still working on the purse, I haven't forgotten!
I've been really tempted to order from susanstars>http://www.susanstars.com
and from what I heard on a previous post, everyone loves her. Susan, you may be hearing from me!

Ms. Glamour Puss,

Your website design is very nice. I love that mini sock puppet keychain...I'd order one if I could. :)

It would be nice to get some opinions from your past customers (or customers of other craft sites, of course).

By KittenCndy On 10/01/02

Sprung. Yeah Im gonna start sending out a little postage paid survey with orders

Somebody suggested, once, that I do a guestbook on my site so that other customers could register their happy reviews. I don't know . . .The last time I tried to create one, (a year or two ago) it didn't work. In the mean time, I keep a file in my email called "happy customers," only because it makes me so happy to know these people are out there.

So I thought maybe I could make a "happy customers" page, and include some of those comments, but wouldn't I need permission from each person to publish their comments? My husband says email is all public. I don't want to sadden the happy people, though. What if I used first names, only? Any thoughts?

Here's my site http://www.textilefetish.com . . .

I LOVE the sites mentioned in the first post, although I've never ordered from them. SparkleCraft is in my city, so I'd have to pay sales tax :( . But since she has distros, I may have to pay them a visit.

My vote is patronize your Glitter Gals this Holiday Season (and always)!

By jennymeg On 10/01/02

Just anoth suggestion . . .you might want to check out our Ebay feedback. cutxpaste sells tons of stuff there and I think either sparkle craft or naughty secretary club has listings right now, as do I.

By DeborahM On 10/01/02

Jennymeg,www.textilefetish.com is so cute, you've found a good way to display your stuff.Your pictures look proffesional.I was wondering if I could be so blunt and ask you if you really do sell your fabulouse creations from your website?

By MoonRat On 10/01/02

I have to agree, what fabulous sites. I will go ahead and plug my site, i hope you like it. I am in the midst of updating the contents, there will be more necklaces, bracelets, anklets, hemp jewelry and earrings soon.

Thank you DeborahM! I do sell items from my site, moreso now that I've added that "shopping cart" feature! It's such a learning process, too.

By Bumble V On 10/01/02

Jennymeg, how'd you get a shopping cart? Was is expensive? I think it would really help out my site.

By jennymeg On 10/01/02

I was signed up with Paypal before, and I upgraded my account to premium. So now there's a nominal fee that's associated with every transaction, but it can be worked into the shipping or product costs. The way it works is pretty cool. You enter the item and price and hit a button that says, "create button." They then provide the html code that will show up to the customer as just an "add to cart" button.

It took me two hours to make those buttons for each and every item on my site :) But it's better than customers having to email me to ask - how do I pay . . .you know, all the back-and-forth emails to get a transaction complete.

I sound like a Paypal representative or something! Anyway, another cool thing about paypal is that they email you shopping cart comtents when the money hits your account. Then you can view the transaction on their site and print a packing slip that looks all nice and professional (except for their big fat logo). I think that can even be somewhat customized, but I'm not that advanced, yet ;)

There are others people use, with monthly fees rather than transaction fees, like CDNow, I think. Paypal's is so cheap, because they flash their name all over the place and all the cusotmers essentially have to sign up with them to use a credit card on your site (no charge to them of course).

By DeborahM On 10/02/02

Off the subject-BumbleV,how did you get those great backrounds for your purse pictures?
And wow!Super cute purses!

Question for Jennymeg: Dose PayPay automaticly get the credit card authorization for your and is it automaticly sacure thru your website?

I'm such a novice to the whole internet, thanks for your baring with me!

By jennymeg On 10/02/02

Yes, Paypal does all the official - technical stuff. The only thing that would suck is if there were to be a "chargeback." It's not secure through my web site, per se, but through Paypal's website. When a customer adds an item to their cart, it opens a new window (that being a Paypal window showing the cart contents).

Before I should have said "CCNow," instead of "CDNow." Lots of people use that one.

I, too, am in love with Bumble-V's purses!

i just bought a skirt (the military school girl) from here:>http://www.xnxdesigns.com/index.php?view=catalog

and in the same vain, but more retail is>http://www.illig.com/enter.html
this site is awesome for inspiration of unique materials and designs. (check out poodle sweater in tops)

melimade-why I can't get into your site?

By vicky_vale On 10/02/02

cutxpaste.com is excellent; the seller ships fast, wraps stuff in tissue paper, and sends freebies.
like a present in the mail more than an order.

:)

By sprung On 10/02/02

Thanks Vicky Vale, that is good to know. I've been wanting to order something from them but you never know if a seller is shady or if they're going to cheat you on your product.

Tina at Sparkle Craft is very nice and answers all of my questions 5 seconds after I send her the email.

By aesthetica On 10/02/02

*oops, double post!*

By aesthetica On 10/02/02

Cut-and-paste is one of my faves! She is always so helpful and friendly. She sells good vintage-y/homemade stuff on eBay and she's a glitter girl to boot!

I also like to check out naughty secretary club for their cool bracelets.

By Bumble V On 10/02/02

DeborahM, I take some of the pics and other's I find on non-copyright sites. I have to admit that my husband (not I) does most of the pictures. He uses photoshop and illustrator.

Thanks for all the complements! Made my day.

*that radioactive dress is kinda cute and very original! Is the designer on the glitter boards? Wow

By cutxpaste On 10/03/02

hey! wow!

this is jenny and i run cutxpaste.com. i just want you to be rest assured that i try my best to make customers happy! i describe everything to the best of my ability in my item descriptions; since i sell a lot of vintage clothes, this includes any faults in the items as well.

i also carry a lot of consignment items from fellow glitter girls and i can say that their items pass my quality tests too. customers are always welcome and encouraged to ask me questions before and after they order about any item in the shop.

i try to answer all email as soon as i get it and i ship items out within 1-2 days of receiving payment. your order is shipped via Priority Mail once your payment is received. i package the items carefully and include a invoice slip that details your order and has my email in case you have any questions about your order.

while i usually don't take returns, if you are unhappy with your order or there was a mistake in the item description, i do my best to work something out!

if you have any other questions feel free to email me! i love my customers!

xoxo, jenny

Shameless bump, in search of more reviews.

By gadgetgirl On 10/06/02

ya know, as I was reading all of this I got to thinking. Shame we can't do some sort of Glitter Mall. ala Girl Shop. One stop shopping where people can find all kinds of stuff made by Glitterati...
any thoughts?

By ursonate On 10/06/02

code it and they will come...
