Topic dang good salesmen and saleswomen Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

This summer I have been shamelessly turned on and clicked into Whitman and Rumi, whom I feel have hugely made me more whole. After devouring Whitman I felt balanced and calm and more in tune with the strangers around me than any other time I've ever felt. And Rumi was a cave-in to Sark's (another spectactular saleswoman) suggestion, and I was glad I did. After reading Rumi I beleive in God...an uncatholic, composed God, but nonetheless, I decided God lurks in everyone in one form or another, and suddenly everyone looked so beautiful and sparkly.

Who are your favorite salesmen disguised as authors or poets?

Whitman gives me the warm fuzzies like no other. Cleverly disguised emotional blackmail i'm sure.

My favourite salesmen are the very good travel agents. The ones that give such fantastic descriptions of location that I just want to go. Hillerman and C.S. Lewis are particularly good at this.

Food writers. They make food that I wouldn't eat if you paid me a million dollars sound appealling.

"Here's a lovely plate of shit, coated in a delectable plum sauce and garnished with delicate carved pieces of aubergine."
