I have a feeling I'm not the first person to ask this, but I need help ASAP. Anywho! My question is what could I make my friend (who is turning 14) for her birthday?? I've thought about marble magnets, but she has no use for those. Can't hang em in her locker.. so their ya go..

*Thanks*

Make her a record bowl: http://www.getcrafty.com/read/craft/features/recordbaking/>http://www.naughtysecretaryclub.com/recordbox.htm
I made two yesterday. So easy and they look so cool!

You can also make books from the records. Using a utility knife, score thru the record a few times and snap off the excess to end up with a rectangular or square piece of vinyl. Lightly sand the edges or cover with coloured tape. Do the same for the back cover. Drill three holes down the side you want to be the spine of the book. Use binder clips to hold the paper for the inside together, place the record cover on top an mark where the holes are. Drill thru the paper. Put all your layers together put rings (the loose binder ones, you can get them at stationary stores) thru the holes. Voila! You could also change the label on the records by pasting over it with a label custom made by you or paint over it with acrylics or glitter! Then, you could glue the excess record on to a mirror with a magnetic back for her locker.

The record box from the second link (a glitter girl's site, of course!) is easy, too, just more time consuming. I made a bunch during the holidays that turned out really cute. I used the liner to cover the back side of the box (and decorative paper for the records that didn't have a liner) and used rubber cement for an instant bond. I also didn't use packing tape on the edges as the boxes worked fine without it.

Hope that gives you ideas. Yay glitter!

I made a record book too, and it turned out really cool. The only thing I would say is wear protective gloves when you're breaking the record, because the edges are sharp! I gouged my knuckle on one!
