I know, I know remodeling a room can get expensive, but I am on a tight budget right now and I can't just spend money like it is a religion. So if you have any ideas to what I could do with a game room, and how I can do it for less please respond.

painting is good. i've always wanted to do a mural in a room...but that's just me. you can get carpet remnants if you are so inclined...those can be cheaper than other carpet places if the space is small.

Hmmm...what type of feel are you going for in the game room? If it were me, I'd pick the prevalent sport/hobby/etc and gently introduce it with 2-3 items. If you use the room to watch hockey games, maybe that team picture from the paper would be cool and a lamp or throw in a team color. That way, you don't look like a die-hard fanatic, but your favorite team is easy to figure out. My parents have an old pinball machine that they got for a steal 25 yrs ago and it really makes the game room relaxed. Of course now it's worth more than their car, but if your budget is tight, try the painting and/or carpet (cheap rugs from thrift stores are great) and a few new accessories will liven it up. Hope this helps!

Yes, tell us what look you are going for. Then we can get brainstorming on ideas to help you. Painting is a good idea. You don't happen to live in Britain do you? I thought maybe, because of your name. Well if you do have you heard of HyperValue? I know it's crap, but they sell some decent and cheap paint. We painted our bedroom Spanish Orange for under £10.

I am going for a warm, in style look. I thought about recovering some old chairs in faux mink fur. I just want it to be a place where everybody could just be laid back and watch a few flicks on the tely.

definitely go to thrift stores/good will/salvation army to look for things that catch your eye. fabrics, etc. and look for little kitschy items that could add personality to the room.
