I found out today that one of my cousins, whom I'm close to, is pregnant. I've decided to (try to) start a project for the new baby. Thought I would turn to the craft godesses yet again...Any ideas???

my boyfriend's brother's wife is also pregnant, and i've been thinking about the same thing. i've been thinking about knitting a blanket or maybe hats or a sweater. but i'm not sure yet, there's also a cool blanket here: http://www.stylesalon.com/kids/StSalonProject1851.html

i made a quilt for a friend that was quite simple. I took a bunch of t-shirt fabric that had screen printed butterflies (or you could just use cute t-shirts cut up) and cut them into 12" squares. Sewed them together. Used a printed knit fabric for the back. Sewed right sides together; leaving about 12" open on one side.put a couple layers of batting in the middle and sewed the opening shut. Put a few tack stitches in each corner and on each side to secure the batting.

I try not to admit it, but I am a huge Martha Stewart fan and she has a Baby Issue available that has great ideas for crafty baby stuff. There are also some ideas on her website:
