hey can anyone out there tell me how to reapply a zipper to a pair of jeans where the original broke and also can u tell me if it is possible to attach a zipper to a pair of jeans that originally were button fly?

just rip the old zipper off (with a seam ripper) and sew the new one in, on the same lines. you might need to slide it in between layers of fabric, depending on the type of jeans. i would hand-sew it, since sewing zippers in by machine in that type of situation is hateful.

anything is possible, but sewing a zipper into button fly pants would be a serious pain in the ass.

Speaking of zippers, any idea for a really loose zipper? I have my favorite pair of jeans that the zipper falls down every time I sit down (they're not tight on me, they're actually loose), and I have no intention of replacing the zipper (too lazy). Any ideas??

The first thing that occured to me is that if you fasten a smaller safety pin just below the zipper pull once they are zipped up it will keep it from sliding down.

The downside is that you'd do the safety pin every time you put your pants on, and you'd probably want a safety pin that is short enough not to extend beyond the fly area, yet wide enough to get around the zipper teeth without bursting open from the stress of sitting.

Good Luck!
