k, so my boyfriend's birthday is coming up, and i wanted to buy him a pair of pants. it sounds simple, but he's a 30X34 and basically no companies *besides H+M* make his size (that is NO 30s come in lengths that long). does anyone know any place else that has pants for tall skinny boys? otherwise, is it unrealistic for me to make him a "real"looking pair of pants (not jeans)?

Before I gained mroe weight, I bought 30x34" jeans in the guy's dept. at Target. Don't know if you are looking for a snazzier brand, but they fit your size specs, are extremely affordable, and wear well. :^ )

awesome, thanks libby. i actually suggested that to him a few nights ago (he was sad from an unsuccessful pants shopping trip) and he said he was positive they wouldn't have his size. guess he was wrong! i'll check it out, thanks again.

A lot of companies have more sizes online, or you can order them at the store.
I know gap.com does this (at least for women, but I'mm99% sure for men too).
Also the levi's (or dockers) website might have more. You could just check out various websites for major brands.

Also, LL Bean and Lands End often have odd sizes (but these might not be the style you are looking for).

Maybe jcrew.com.

I'm curious about the sewing of pants as well. My man is similarly built, but pants buying is made even more difficult as he's only interested in wearing supertight pants with a flare (yes, one of those much-maligned 70s rocker boys).

For jeans, cowboy/Western wear stores will usually have bootcut jeans in the world's largest array of sizes and washes, including lots of skinny-minnie sizes (think Dwight Yoakam and tons of rodeo guys). But what about other pants?

Factory Outlet stores will ussually have all the sizes that normal stores don't. Pretty cheap too.
