If there is one thing I can't stand it is the eroticiztion of young girls.

*&%$#@!!!!!

Can you even believe that those 'parents' were running a site with erotic pictures of their 12-year-old daughter? I feel so sick!

It's not really so sad. I mean, it's good that a crackdown is coming. It's good that these girls won't be exploited anymore in this way. I'm sure they'll find other ways to continue with the exploitation, though; it's human nature. I do hope that they can just use existing laws. Making new laws is always so troublesome.

This one, however, is reallllly sad:>http://www.msnbc.com/news/779456.asp?0bl=-0

This kind of stuff always makes me feel kinda sick to my stomach. :(

It's physically upsetting when you hear of stuff like that...it makes you wonder how sick people really are that function in day to day life right next to you and we don't even know it. Really makes you want to keep your guard up.

edited for extra grammar changes.. ;)

Ick. I can't get over this stuff. What really bothers me is the adults in these kids' lives not giving them any direction on how to make descisions; of course a teenager (even a 13-yr. old) is totally able to make decisions for themselves, but come on, adults should be asking them questions about those descisions and giving them some yardstick to measure what's right and wrong.
A friend of mine is a middle school teacher; we were in Ybor (the area where all the nightclubs and bars are in Tampa) and we saw some of his students gangbanging. These are like 12 year olds! Of course, he can pull aside a kid after class and try and have a talk with them, but really, it's as if their parents have given up--he's just their math teacher for fuck's sake! And to think some of those girls on the "modelling" sites had their parents' PERMISSION bothers me so much I can't even express it. Of course, I think most of us were probably screwing around to a certain extent at that age; I was the oldest of my friends to lose the ol' v-card at 15; and yeah, a lot of girls that age think they're mature enough to date men 10 yrs. their senior, live on their own, pose for nudie mags, whatever...but as an adult looking back, I wish someone older than me (maybe not my parents) would have sat me down and told me that it is flipping sick for adults to be chasing after little girls, because even if those girls LOOK like women, 10 minutes of conversation should tell you they aren't. Aaargh. I'm sorry, it just makes me sooo sooooo mad.

i feel sorta the same way about those little black and white pictures of kids holding roses and kissing.

both types of pictures sexualize an age level that really shouldn't be sexualized. let kids grow up before sticking all these adult burdens of marriage and sex on them.

oh my god, scubaslug, i so agree with you about those creepy pictures! it seems like everyone thinks they are so cute, and i'm like "hello, they are children!!!" i hate those things. why can't society just let kids be kids? no kissing, flirting, "boyfriends" or "girlfriends"!!! they sell those horrid things, in their tacky gold frames, at my school when they have vendors come in and they have all kinds of cards and crap like that at the bookstore. but then the school freaks out when they find a ton of kiddie porn on a school computer. i guess they're too stupid to see that both kinds of pics sexualize children, although one may be more graphic than the other.

those dopey floppy hats-and-roses pics are sooooo popular with the sorority girls at my school its not even funny. i had a friend renting a room in one of the houses and that house was plastered with those things. and weirdly related, i once was going to get an apartment with this girl my freshman year. she was a nice girl, alot different from me, but i thought we would get along. then i saw that she liked to decorate with those kind of pictures. i told her i didn't think i could live with her, and i didn't.
