I’m at work. we all went to lunch at the Blue water grill. A paper rep paid! so we ate a really nice lunch for free. damn i’m full, and sleepy. But I just wanted to say that for about an hour, I didn’t think of all the other shit in my life. I feel pretty ok today. I laughed genuinely while I told my padded top at a club story. I’m going to the support group on wednesday. I’ll let you guys know how it goes. I’m a little nervous about it, but i feel like I NEED to go. I just want to say that this is essentially a site where mostly women post about their accomplishments, their insecurities, their hopes, worries, plans etc... It’s a cyber place, and yet, honestly, your words of encouragement have REALLY helped me. I find myself thinking of Jennyfeet telling me “You have HPV. Are you going to let it get in the way of your life?” or Sophia Turtle’s yoga reoommendation, Kmartdollie’s wise words, Martita telling me how many people she knows that have it. Or Faerygirl “My life has been great and I really never think twice about my STD.” It gives me hope that one day, i’ll be able to accept this. I have so many friends but I’ve only told my 3 closest 2 of which do not live in this city. So, it’s like you guys have really been my encouragent eventhough i have never even met you. I just wanted to say thank you. and i wanted you to realize how much it’s helped me. when i feel the crying spell coming on, I think of these things and they make me stronger. thanks.

I'm glad to hear you are doing better. Keep your chin up and let yourself laugh often.

Aren't the people on these boards great?

aw, we heart you newgirl, and glitter is always here for you -
:)

I've done a lot of thinking/reading recently about the concept of a community of knowledge, especiailly the oral tradition of information and advice, which is something we don't get these days. for me glitter is like a community of wise, accepting women with ages of experience between us. that's something that is missing from most peoples lives, and I'm so happy to have found it here.

Hey NG -

I just read through all the responses to your HPV posting. We met at the support group last night and I just want to say that this online community seems like a great source of advice and support for you (with a few notable exceptions!!!). You are a strong and intelligent woman and I have no doubt that you are going to weather this crisis. Take care of your body, your heart and your mind and let me know if there is any way I can help!
