does anyone know a good way to remove candle wax? i spilled bright purple wax all over my wooden dresser. i scraped a little, but the purple remains. any advice?

If you get a good absorbent cloth like a cotton scrap or something and place it on top and blow dry it, the heat will melt the wax and the cloth will absorb the it.
This can also be done with an iron, but I'm not sure I like the idea of ironing my furniture. It may burn and the wax may get on the iron. Basically it can be messy.

I hope you manage to get it out! there was a thread a while ago on getting wax off of a table, and I think there were some good ideas. Good luck!

I have taken candle wax out of my carpet by laying a paper grocery bag down and placing a hot iron on top for a minute. The wax melts, and sticks to the bag. I see no reason you couldn't do this to a tabletop. Test a little area first, maybe?

I'm sixteen years old and my mom is just beginning to allow me to burn candles:)
Anywho, if you rub the wax with an ice cube, it could harden a little more and then be scraped off easier. I'm a little squeamish about putting an iron up to my furniture:)
