okay, i'm a moron. i used a pot from my brand new set of pots and pans (an expnsive gift from my mom) and a double boiler to make some candles. i managed to drip wax into the water, and now what started out as a little mess is a huge waxy horror. is my pot salvageable? anyone have any ideas?

I fix this problem with either more boil or the freezer. Boil it off and fish it outta the pot with a disposable item or shove the pot in the freezer and chip the wax off. This works well for candle holders too. My girlfriend's bartender trick it to pour boiling water from the kettle onto waxxie item to loosen it.

It works well.

Also for wax on fabric--layer paper towel or newspaper on waxxie item and iron it to lift off offending stuff.
