Ms. Glamourpuss - Big batch o' candles will be in the mail Tuesday. I'll be taking new pictures of them, too - Madonna and Cher are far more rhinestoney now, in keeping with their status as modern saints. (In a way.)

Okay I need some advice now....when can you expect orders from a website? Ive had my shop open for about two weeks and havnt received a single order. What am I doing wrong?

how are you promoting your site? any ads out there? (paid or unpaid)
have you looked into any link exchanges with other sites? maybe with a zine or two?
do you have a press kit to send out? what about samples to send to some of the fashion mags?

Ok... Shopping is where I shine... That site is Fabulous! The stuff is totally cool & unique.
You just need to find your market, and Really PROMOTE. Think of what kind of people would buy your stuff...and go to places frequented by them... I hope this isn't a bad thing, but I'm thinking they would go over big with the JANE Mag crowd. The Resin Bracelets, Pussy soap & Candles esp. You should maybe send out a press release, or a sample to them, or try their website. I can see lots of potential for big sales there, because the stuff is really cool. The only thing that I thought was even a little off was the Made from magazine pages bit, Re: the Marble magnets, and I'm not even sure why.. I just think people would be more inclined to buy something if they thought... That would be hard/time consuming to make... and I'm just tooo lazy, ring it up!

Looove your site. As far as promotion goes, it's all about text ads, baby. Lots of places have 'em for cheap and I've had tons of luck driving traffic with them. (try MetaFilter.com & PyRads [on blogger.com] -- I hear MeFi ads get pretty high click-thru) If you go the text ad route, try a few different text blurbs to see what works best. I think you have a good name for this sort of ad.

Also, think about making buttons for your fans to post on their respective sites -- I would SO put one on mine, and there are a lot of Glitter girls with web space that might be willing to post a button or two!

nervousness.org has really cool little text-only box ads (cheap!). nervousness gets a TON of artistic traffic, so i would suggest checking that out....

Have you thought about putting male objects of pop worship on your candles, like peter gabriel, moby, freddy mercury, prince . . . or even the real recent pop-sters like britney spears? I'm not saying I would personally buy a britney spears candle, but i think someone out there just might. I think the main thing would be stars whose flashiness is almost as admired as their talent, ya think?

i would buy a martha stewart prayer candle, esp. if it was some hilarious picture of her in a bathrobe or cooking a giant piece of meat or something.

i love your site, especially those resin bracelets. i've been looking for the parts to make those type of bracelets with, could you share your resources with the glittergrrls?

does each resin dome have it's own back? was there a form that you poured the resin into? if not, how did it keep it's shape?

Actually I dont make the bracelets. The girl from Naughty Secretary Club makes them. http://www.naughtysecretaryclub.com It seems that she pours resin into ice cubes, embed the images then drills a hole on the side and put rings through it.
