We believe that massive numbers of typed & hand written snail mail letters to ABC TELEVISION NETWORK EXECUTIVES below will make them reconsider & get this good, clean, quality, well written, funny, family show back to the airwaves. We need the assistance of those fine folks in your congregations, parishes & schools; boyscouts, girlscouts, volunteers & troop leaders; or any other family community organizations at public schools, libraries, gyms, parks, offices, & meeting halls, There is an online petition hyperlink below. There's a LIFE WITH BONNIE Internet posting group that can keep you informed of any updates & further directions. There is also a voting link to SAVE LIFE WITH BONNIE. I urge you to add this message to any hard copy &/or online newsletter or website that you may have. Please pass this on to friends, family, & co workers. Please encourage them to do the same. I thank you in advance for any cooperation. We look forward to seeing new episodes of LIFE WITH BONNIE again. If not ABC, perhaps another network or cable channel will pick it up. This campaign can make that possible. Feel free to contact your local newspapers, magazines, radio, news, & television stations to get them on board to save the show. Print out the flyer at the end of this message & post it on real cork bulletin boards.

The Week of May 16, 2004

It is with great sadness that I tell you ABC has canceled LIFE WITH BONNIE.
Bonnie was told "We don't know how to promote you. We don't have a companion show for you."
Bonnie's brother likened it to being a fine wine in the middle of a 7-Eleven.
He couldn't have said it better.
I am so sad to know that our great cast and great crew will not be getting back together.
What an extraordinary group of people. I will miss each one.
There is a glimmer of hope that perhaps the show can be sold to another network
or perhaps a cable outlet.
If that happens you can be certain I will put it on my website.
I want to thank all the fans who have responded so enthusiastically to our show.
I wish it had been within our power to keep it alive.
Doing LIFE WITH BONNIE has been the happiest time of my life.
I am immensely proud to be associated with it and to be remembered for it.
I love Bonnie Hunt with all my heart. I will remain forever in her debt.
Life always goes on and for that I am very grateful.

Networks Shortchange the Kids: A Letter to Senators, the FCC & the ANA

We need more family programming in prime-time.
Families cannot allow the networks to drive them away.

Networks must be pressured by viewers who buy products,
from advertisers,
that make commercials,
that have huge corporations,
that join associations like ANA,
that buy air time from networks,
that are telecast during programming,
that must adhere to standards of the FCC,
that are governed by members of the Senate,
that hopefully listen to it's constituents.

Just plain ordinary folks like you & I, are at the top & the bottom of this list.
We are the beginning & the end of this wheel that's out of balance with families.

Putting poorly promoted ABC's LIFE WITH BONNIE'S fate under the microscope
illustrates the failure of networks to nurture the family unit.

Children are profoundly affected by television.
What they learn there will frame their parenting skills for kids of the future.

We need to show kids the best that television has to offer.
That's a huge responsibility, & it falls on the networks!

Dear Senator:

I think you'll agree, if we had more family television in prime-time, the cable issues would not seem as grand. The bottom line should really be the kids. Networks continue to take away their safe havens. Reality shows, sex, & violence have predominated evening programming. Do you really need to wonder why we have so much murder, violence, drug abuse, theft, fraud, & white collar crime? We need to bring this full circle and impress children to be good citizens & fine individuals so they can teach their children the same. Aside from good parenting, & after school community activities, this means more quality family programming that reinforces ethics, & good family values. It's simple, give at least an hour of prime-time back to the kids. Be generous to our future. Maybe adults can have an additional hour of prime-time afterwards.

=====================================

Dear Ladies & Gentlemen of The Federal Communications Commission:

I am sending you a letter that just I sent to The Association of National Advertisers.
There is so much to lose when family viewers leave prime-time. It is important that you keep a safe place for them.

I'd like to thank Commissioners Michael Copps and Kevin Martin for their stand in asking the TV networks to reinstate the family viewing hour & urge the other commissioners to join Copps and Martin in their stand.

Hopefully, you can all agree to save a wonderful family situation comedy.

=====================================

A letter to THE ASSOCIATION OF NATIONAL ADVERTISERS

Ladies & Gentlemen at ANA:

Family shows are an endangered species.
Reality shows constantly erode that market.
Family viewers are shying away from network television.
What venues will be left for advertising family products?

We are taking a stand to protect LIFE WITH BONNIE.
Bonnie Hunt was nominated for 2 Golden Globe Awards.
The show has The Seal of Approval of The Parents Television Council.
Your family markets suffer when networks cancel a show of this caliber.

Join us & garner a third season or more for LIFE WITH BONNIE.
It's syndication will afford you many years of fine family programming & advertising opportunity.

Don't lose this chance...

Sincerely,
June Jordan

GOODBYE LIFE WITH BONNIE unless you try to make a difference.

Bonnie Hunt's ABC sit com LIFE WITH BONNIE was canceled in May. It will rurun until the end of July & is not scheduled for the fall season. GOOD BYE LIFE WITH BONNIE unless you try to make a difference.

If LIFE WITH BONNIE got a third season, it would have syndication. By canceling LIFE WITH BONNIE & denying it a third season, ABC & TOUCHSTONE TV have wasted 2 years of production time, talent & money. This is an unwise business decision, more commonly called a blunder. It is also a slap in the face to families & nonsupport of real family entertainment. They have impeded the worldwide legacy of BONNIE HUNT'S LIFE WITH BONNIE & shot this show DEAD IN IT'S TRACKS, along with a bullet hole in their own foot & and another straight through the heart of Bonnie Hunt. They should be ashamed, be very ashamed. There's hope that they can become the hero by bringing it back as a mid season entry. They can also recover their losses by effectively peddling it to another network or cable channel that can truly appreciate a quality family sit com & respect the talent & genius of Bonnie Hunt.

Let the network know how you feel about this.

SUPPORT YOUR SHOW & KEEP THE FAITH! It is rumored that Bonnie & the cast monitor the petition page & websites that have SAVE LIFE WITH BONNIE endorsements. DO NOT GIVE UP! Show them that we care & have not abandoned LIFE WITH BONNIE. Get Bonnie back on LETTERMAN with some positive news about the show! It's up to you. Don't drop the ball. Give them hope & something to smile about.

CONSTRUCTIVE discussions are encouraged here at the messageboard!

MEDIA COMMENTS & LIFE WITH BONNIE UPDATES

It is so sad when a show of this caliber is taken off the air. Please e-mail family media advocacy groups, & share this with family, friends, & colleagues. We are requesting that supporters write snail mail letters to ABC. There are other options below. Please rally with us to get LIFE WITH BONNIE back where it belongs & sign our petition so we'll know you are onboard!

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER>http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/television/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000579042:

Bonnie Hunt was oh-so-gracious after learning that she had landed a lead comedy actress nomination for her now-defunct ABC comedy "Life With Bonnie." "I'm grateful I had the opportunity to do the show in the first place," she said. The Emmy nom "is nice for my family because it'll make them feel good," she said. "My mom still can't understand how the show can be canceled."

TV Guide Online - [Roush Review]>http://www.tvguide.com/tv/roush/dispatches/ July 15, 2004

Among the more pleasant surprises: the irony of Bonnie Hunt's comedy-actress nomination for Life with Bonnie, a show that ABC killed presumably because it wasn't as mediocre as the network's other so-called sitcoms.

Question:
Congrats to Bonnie Hunt for getting nominated for an Emmy. It'll be
great if she wins, so that ABC exes could once again realize what
morons they are when it comes to knowing when to keep shows and when
to cancel them. — Jennifer

Matt:
Too true. I love the irony of Hunt being nominated when Life with
Bonnie was so unexpectedly axed. It's not as if ABC is swimming in
nominations, and it's not hard to understand why. Peggy

Important Info.... -- LIFE WITH BONNIE>http://www.voy.com/169759/338.html 19:36:48 07/19/04 Mon

<< Bonnie was apparently not warned or had very, very little warning that the show was going to be
pulled Friday night. It will not be back, unless there is a dramatic shift in winds at ABC. The chances of it are between 0% & -10%. ABC & Touchstone are hand in glove.

Her EMMY nomination was a surprise. There were no "for your consideration" tapes or letters sent by
anyone. ABC did nothing. Bonnie did nothing. So she got nominated because people really liked her
work & maybe wanted to make a statement.

SPECULATION:
Did ABC spitefully yank LWB because of a surprise, pending Emmy nomination? >>

--------------------------------------

Let ABC know that you are so disappointed with their NON SUPPORT of LIFE WITH BONNIE especially with the prospect of an EMMY nomination. WRITE SNAIL MAIL LETTERS! Quality must always be celebrated! Negative network politics must yield the right of way to embrace excellence & wonderful family programming. Biting the bullet & renewing LIFE WITH BONNIE may be one of the best non-egotistical, positive network decisions that ABC can make. This bold move in the face of other networks increasing programming concessions that ignores family values, may encourage finding the lost character & faith that families previously had in your network. Don't compound your mistakes. Let this one empower you & make a difference to both American & global families. It is an investment in the future of your network.
