I'm sorry but I think Billy was the one for Ally... They are soulmates but they couldn't be in that lifetime, but in the next they will still be soulmates and maybe by then they can be together. I have a theory that if you don't end up with your soulmate, you will nver really be truly happy... Finding your soulmate comes only once in a lifetime and it doesn't come very lifetime... Now things like death sometimes effects that happiness... In Billy and Ally's case... Well maybe it wasn't ment to be for this lifetime...

My choice is definitely Larry.I love Billy but he made Ally feel bad.But I think that Billy/Ally love is the biggest and everlasting love which I've seen.But there is another special thing is on Larry/Ally. And have to add that I find Larry more good looking than Billy..

I'm sure it wasn't all Billy's fault that he 'just left her'. I liked Billy, but I think he hurt Ally more than Larry ever did with the whole Georgia thing. Victor, in my personal opinion, so don't scream at me, was just a poor attempt to liven up ratings...and it didn't work very well.

I'd say none of them. As the series went on you saw more and more how unsuitable Billy and Ally were for each other; the only reason he meant so much to her is because he was the idealised childhood sweetheart, the 'perfect love' who doesn't really exist. And as the layers peel away you see Billy isn't like that at all. Victor - no way. He's judgemental and boring and not suitable for Ally at all. She was only attracted to him because he was a kind of 'nanny in shining armour', the responsible guy who helped her out and babysat when she had a lot of important new roles (mother, senior partner in her law firm) thrust upon her. Once she got a grip on her life again she realised she didn't actually feel that much for him. Larry is the most promising, if it wasn't for all of his baggage. They really, truly get each other and would be wonderful together - but you have to ask yourself certain questions about a man who has an ex-wife and a child to an ex girlfriend. Maybe Larry is actually too much like Ally, and he's just as incapable of the happiness which Billy accused Ally of being incapable of. Larry is the best out of the three, but even he has major shortcomings...

I would have to say im a Larry fan all the way. It was sad that RDJ went back to all his coke habbits again, he is such a talented actor. I think Ally and Larry were the best pair and they would have been together for ages if RDJ wasnt fired or quit or what ever happened. It pissed me off the way he left because it all fell to bits in 1 ep and if he truely loved Ally he would have had the balls to fight for her rather than leave, he didnt even properly talk it through with Ally and didnt give any atempt to make up with her. Larry is awesome besides that. It would have been cool if he was on the final series. I miss Aly McBeal, in my country (NZ) we are having repeats and is up to when larry just came back from Detroit. I forgot how much i loved it till it came back on. :(

Yeah, well in Aus the repeats are only on cable, which I don't have. But I have the box set, and I make sure to stay well away from the ep where he leaves, because I hated it too. But there wasn't anything else the writers could have done. I would have preferred a better ending in season 5 Larry related, though. Even if he couldn't have shown up, maybe Ally could have moved to Detroit instead of New York, leaving it open.

That bites. Channel 7 has the old repeats of the 'good' shows weekday afternoons at 2. They're finishing Felicity this week, I'm hoping Ally will take the slot some time.

Larry is the number one for Ally. Yes, Billy and Ally are soulmates but soulmating is not the best way to be happy with your lover. Billy is the only one that can make Ally satisfied. Besides all, Robert Downey, Jr. is one of my favourite actors and i think he caught up a beautiful impression with Calista Flockhart. I hope Ally McBeal is on air again even Calista doesn't want to be Ally anymore. Ally 'n Larry 4eva

Ok i know this might sound weird but...what about John i thought they were soul mates because they shared the inner world thing and they got each other more then anyone else. Plus the fact they both thought they were the one for each other at one stage. I think John was a good match for Ally.

So did I, BAF, but Ally says she doesn't feel any physical passion for him or attraction to him. And the point the show has made over and over again (right back to "The Promise" of season one) is that physical attraction plays a big part in these things, and without it the relationship isn't going anywhere, at least not for Ally. On the other hand, maybe John and Ally both need more normal partners to ground them a little more in the real world.
